Damian 'Al Ghul' Wayne

Damian Wayne was created by Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert and is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. His first apperance is debated with fans, but most of them agree with either Batman #655 or Batman #656. Most of Damian Wayne's origins is, quite annoyingly, changed throughout issues but as of now Bruce Wayne had met Talia al Ghul when he was fighting Ra's al Ghul. They had a brief hook up and Bruce had no clue about Damian. Talia then aged up Damian artifically, trying to create the perfect warrior.

Ra's al Ghul, Damian's grandfather, was the leader of the League of Assassins and Damian was trained by them while also being raised by Talia. Damian became a skilled assassin and Due to his lineage Damian became a respected member of the League.

Damian is of White American, Arabic, and Chinese heritage. He got his American heritage from Bruce and his Arabic + Chinese heritage from Talia. Damian is actually an artist and is shown in many issues drawing/painting. In "Batman and Robin (2023) #001," Damian is shown creating his own comic called "Damian Vane and the Murder of Krows Mystery."

When Talia deemed that Damian was ready, she allowed him to go to Gotham and meet Bruce. Bruce was suprised to know he had a son with an enemy's daughter, but still took Damian in. Damian volunteered to become his next sidekick. Batman agreed and Damian took up the Robin mantle, offically becoming the 5th robin. Damian and Bruce first got off on the wrong foot due to the fact Damian was carved to a killing machine, but it was eventually sorted out between the two of them and Damian adopted the "no killing" rule aswell.

Damian is a heavily traumatized kid, he was exposed to violence from birth, literally. He grew up around assassins and people who thought of him as a weapon; he seeks out praise and affection like every other kid but he's used to being praised for being violent.

He's actually pretty hated in the fandom, and a lot of people say it's due to his pretty bratty/implusive nature (although, that is precisely why I love him). I find it a weak excuse; he acts like a kid? He's your regular (behaviour wise) 14 y/o boy? I think people are still reminiscing on Dick Grayson. I mean, they had gotten Jason Todd killed for christ sake and their reasons were mainly the same, calling Jason "angry" and "violent" but now that Jason is older, they love the fact he defies Batman? But you hate Damian for it?

DID YOU KNOW?

Batman used to use guns and actually did kill people! He adopted the "no killing" rule because of the amount of parents that complained Batman was too violent and to confine to the new comic rules that came out.

Damian is a vegetarian! In "Batman Incorporated Vol 2 #1" Damian is sent to a slaughterhouse, and there meets a cow with a batshaped patch on her face. Bruce and Damian took her back to the manor; there, Damian gives her the name "Batcow" and admits he's going vegetarian because of her.

Jason Todd, the 2nd robin, was killed off because of a competition of sorts. DC had given out two numbers; if you called one number, you wished to save Jason from death and if you called the other number, you wished to kill Jason. The killers outweighed the saviours, and therefore DC killed Jason. There was backlash from the people who wanted to save Jason, so they brought him back through resurrection.
